Topic: Starting from the bottom up with some surprises!
Hello all, long time tinkerer just finding the Soliforum. I have had my Solidoodle for a month or two now with plenty of printing success after the requisite learning curve and calibration. I basically bought my printer on an impulse after discovering how affordable 3d printing can be. I was under the impression at the time of purchase that I was getting a SD2 from stock, as that is what I saw on their website and subsequent invoice. What they sent me was a SD4 with an acrylic bed. It took me a few days to figure this out as my knowledge base was non-existent, but it was a welcome surprise. It does in fact have linear bearings on the X-axis and bushings on the Y (I saw a recent thread debating this). In any event I look forward to attempting some of the upgrades I've seen here to make a good printer great. Thanks all for the wealth of information.
