Topic: Volume-Independant 3D Printing Robots for Architecture

http://www.instructables.com/id/Minibui … es-with-s/

One robot drives around and prints a foundation 150cm high.  The next robot continues by gripping the wall from both sides below the current layer and spirals up as it extrudes.   When the wall is done, a third robot uses a vacuum to stick to the wall while it drives up and down, extruding additional threads across the layers for strength.  The material is a 2-part polymer mixed with marble dust.

Wait, you guys know the solar powered one exists? The guy uses a solar panel to track the sun and power the basics, then a fresnel lens coordinates by lightweight electronics to concentrate the lights onto a layer of sand, and made parts laser-sintering style. It was beautiful .

I don't remember where I saw the video, but I think it was in the mojave desert. I googled though and found this: http://www.markuskayser.com/work/solarsinter/ I don't remember if it was the same one I am thinking of (at work no time to go check out the video.)
