Topic: Theta printer

The Theta uses four extruders and a spinning platform. Pretty useful if you need to print several items at once or use multiple colors or materials.
Video included in the link.

Printit Mason and Printit Horizon printers
Multiple SD2s- Bulldog XL, E3D v5/v6/Lite6, Volcano, Hobb Goblin, Titan, .9 motor, Lawsy carriages, direct Y drive, fishing line...the list goes on
Filawinder and Filastruder #1870.....worth every penny!

Re: Theta printer

wow up to 16 dif materials at once bet maint issues and cost also multiple by that much. but hey full color printing in small space. star trek replicator just got closer by 2 binary number jumps lol

Solidoodle 2 with Deluxe kit cover & glass bed with heater. and 2nd board SD2 used not 3rd and alum platform not installed yet still wood. also need cooling fan installed to board. use Repetier Host couple vers. Slic3r also have all free ware STL programs

Re: Theta printer

Because of the smaller movements of the build platform closer to the the-2center, objects printed closer to the center will have a finer resolution.

I think this has been the major reason that polar coordinates have been unimpressive. Speed variation and resolution variation based on radial distance.

The whole multi-print benefit is a rare application, and can be almost approximated by a multi-extruder head cartesian bot, since it would only need to accelerate and decelerate once per motion.

All this criticism aside...the fact that someone thought to do this and followed through, is awesome. I really like the work.
