Topic: Where to get a Davinci heat bed?

I recently put Kapton tape on my glass bead and the part warped pretty bad but since the Kapton tape stuck to the model incredibly good the glass broke in a number of places.
Is the heater element separate from the glass? Can it be removed from the glass?

Before anyone says it, XYZ gives zero response to emails.

I've heard since your not the first that has had broken glass that the heater is glued to the glass.

Your probably going to have to get some borosilicate glass cut to size and buy a heater for it off ebay or somewhere if you can't get any response out of XYZ for a replacement part.

I got no response when I asked where to get a ribbon cable to replace the one for the lcd, so I wouldnt expect to much from them on replacement parts.  Hopefully someone here has found something that will work.

Re: Where to get a Davinci heat bed?

I replaced mine with a helios 200 heatbed, but you could probably use a mk2 heatbed as well. I replaced the glass with a cheap one from a local hardware store, but may upgrade to a borosilicate glass in the future.

What's the difference between normal glass and borosilicate glass?

Borosilicate glass aka  pyrex  is designed to be heated and withstand heat stress. Regular glass has a tendency to crack when heat stressed.
borosilicate glass is available from several sources including Mcmaster carr.
