Topic: Bad filament surface at higher temps

Hey,

I have the issue that the surface of my ABS I bought from and injection molding company gets really rough when I extrude it over 175C. Its not really a problem it just looks weird.

I assume its an issue with that particular type of plastic, but I wanted to ask if anyone else has seen a similar thing with their extrusion.

This is pretty common with all ABS, though MG94 doesn't seem to do it until 200C or so. I am not certain if it is from moisture or melt fracture. Have you tried drying the pellets? What resin ID?

I dont know what kind of plastic I have

Hmm. It would be good to know, not only for expected extrusion properties but also for safety!
