Topic: New 3D Printer (BlackSmith 3D)

Hi everyone,
We are BlackSmith 3D, and we hope you'll take the time to check out the 3D Printer we have to offer you.
With a volume capacity of 6650 cubic centimetres, it is significantly larger than other 3D printers out there, yet it remains compact in size.
Also, our 3D printer uses a rotary platform which allows the user to scan and duplicate whatever they want, instead of having to create whatever they want to print slowly and painstakingly.
Links to our FaceBook page as well as our product pre-launch page will be available soon, so do check us out if you'd like to know more.
Thank you very much!
Sincerely,
the BlackSmith 3D team

Re: New 3D Printer (BlackSmith 3D)

So I looked a little more into this printer, it uses a rotary axis to take the place of X or Y (first time I have seen this).  That would be an interesting solution, only need half the size for x axis while y axis rotates.

Does anyone know of any open source slicers that allow for building on rotary axis?

The fact that he didn't show up pretending to be an interested third party asking questions about his own product is a good sign

Re: New 3D Printer (BlackSmith 3D)

People are much smarter then they were when 1st 3d printers came out.
They started asking question such as:
a. build volume (forget the cubic centimeters trick, its as cheap as saying megabits instead of megabytes like your internet providers do)
b. how many square mm per second does it print
c. software is not important, there is plenty so....
d. price

a video of a restored boy's broken heart hardly does anything smile
