Re: Extrusionbot

I'd be very interested in hearing your thoughts on it.  I'm going back and forth between the filastruder and the extrusion bot.

I'll let you know after it's built.

Anyone else here on soliforum pick up one these Extrusionbots?

Re: Extrusionbot

So my ExtrusionBot is almost complete. I had a couple missing and/or broken parts in my DIY build kit. So just waiting to get those replacements and I'm back in business.

Overall it was not too difficult to build, although I had some struggles. I did have to watch the build videos multiple times. And sometimes when I'd get lost I'd just jump to the next video and build what I could. I'd go back afterwards and be able to figure out what I missing in the previous step. I spent a total of less then 10 hours assembling it over a week, usually in the evening, while I had a buzz. So I know it could probably get down to ~6 hours if you were in the proper uninebriated state of mind, but you wouldn't be having nearly as much fun as had. lol. That ten hours includes all the rewatching of the build videos. And while I can read an electronic diagram, I would not really consider myself electronic savvy, more novice level. So I think that anyone that is on soliforum that has been customizing and mod-ing their SD would be able to build the ExtrusionBot. That being said, this is not really a kit for a beginner to build, but is great for those DIY tinkerers with some experience. There are no build PDF instructions, right now you just have to struggle watching and rewatching the build videos. All the info IS there though, just expect to bounce around a bit in the videos.

Once I get the replacement parts I need I'll post the pictures of the final product.

Re: Extrusionbot

There's no plans, not even a build document or parts list. Just a bunch of videos on youtube.

Re: Extrusionbot

It's a 'commercial' product. The guy sells it either built or as a kit that you have to follow along with his YouTube videos to build yourself.

I had backed his Kickstarter campaign to get my kit.

If you have a kit and just need help understanding the videos of what connects where, send me a PM and I'll try my best to help you.

Re: Extrusionbot

ok I know it's a commercial product but I'm from Argentina and it is impossible to bring

Re: Extrusionbot

I've shipped plenty of Filastruders to Argentina. Shipping costs aren't bad, either, so I don't know what you mean by "impossible to bring".

Re: Extrusionbot

it cost more than a 1000 dolars because the price is of the extrucionbot is u$s 600 and the tax is u$s 300 and the ship u$s 150

Re: Extrusionbot

Oh - you mean too expensive.

Well, a Filastruder is $250, that puts tax at around $75, and shipping is $45. Maybe that helps?

Re: Extrusionbot

I think the filastruder is your answer. Get it all for less then the EB costs.
