Topic: 3D printer thefts in Chicago

I have a regular customer at work who works for the Glenview, Il (north suburb of Chicago) police department. While b.s.ing, I told him about my Solidoodle. He replied that 3 printers in the last 5 weeks were stolen in the city of Chicago. 2 were home hobbyists, 1 was a business. He didn't really have anymore information on it, but I would assume they haven't been caught.

The thieves will be in for a big learning experience when they try to print guns with them :-).

haha yeah. If that were to be their goal, I'd love to see their faces. Unless they stole mine...then I would REALLY like to see their faces. smile
