Topic: DeltaTrix 3D Printer on Kickstarter for £600

The DeltaTrix 3D Printer is now available on Kickstarter as a Kit. Search for 'DeltaTrix' on Kickstarter or use the following link: kck.st/1i6fQ6w

The Open Source DeltaTrix is based on a delta robot, known for it's use in pick and place operations. Due to the light end effector, it can move very fast. All heavy parts such as motors are stationary, as is the part being printed. The frame is self-aligning by design and very easy to assemble. Being very sturdy, the printer does not require frequent calibration. Also, a reduced numbers of components, good cable management and good design practice leads to a machine which looks good in a design office. As materials ABS and PLA have been tested, with the machine accepting coils up to 1kg from any manufacturer. Finally, the use of quality components, such as German made Igus linear slides, ensure durability and a reliable operation. The focus with the printer has been for out right performance, high quality, and pleasing aesthetics, with the cost factor being of secondary importance.

For the Kickstarter campaign two different kits are on offer, a Comprehensive Kit and a Reprap Upgrade Kit.

The Comprehensive Kit will come with all the parts to assemble a DeltaTrix 3D Printer. The panel material is black Valchromat, an egineered coloured wood by Investwood. The Kickstarter price for this kit £600. After the Kickstarter campaign, the same kit will retail at £660 + VAT (where applicable).

The Reprap Upgrade Kit is ideal for owners of a Reprap printer or similar, who would like to upgrade their existing printer. The kit includes all the parts needed to complete the build of a DeltaTrix 3D Printer, apart from electronics/power supply, hot end, extruder, stepper motors, bed. Salvage the missing bits from your old machine!
