I was waffling about wanting to test, but then I figured I want to use it on a linux hosted windows virtual machine with the USB connection passed through, and they might want to know if that actually works, so I sent in my name as well :-).
If there is a problem with that scheme, maybe they could even fix it during the test period (I'd hate to have to crank up my real windows box just to scan things).
Hey , Good news!I have been selected to as a beta tester for the Matteform 3d scanner.More to follow when I get it.
yes i'm also selected for the beta test...
Might be interesting to do the rabbit in the hat trick and see if the rabbit disappears any faster or slower with the matterform :-).
The matterform blog and this thread has been awful quiet. Any testing actually been happening yet? I'd have thought the test units would have made it to the testers by now...
I got an email from them yesterday. Now they say it will be next week before they ship the beta units. They experienced delays in China.

Yea , last update was on 3-31. I emailed them on 4-3 but no reply yet. I just hope that I'm not out almost $600.00

I wonder if it is one of the 10 they got in the first batch. Their last blog post said they were looking forward to providing pictures of the new shipment they expected last week, but there is no new blog update yet.
MOUHAHAHAH mine is waiting me at home unboxing report will follow in the next days

So maybe we can hope they were too busy with the new units getting them shipped out to bother updating the blog?
Fedx tracking says I'll have mine Monday
FIRSTTTT !!!!! to crash the software
i just try to calibrate the scanner and i crash the software... trying to debug with matterform ...
... beta test, that's not for nothing
the package is minimal but efficient... you get the scanner (well made), a calibration target , a power unit and a USB cable...
the software install a leonardo arduino drivers, with a logitech HD webcam C270..
the motor do a horrible noise when the scanhead move (start of the calibration) ...
i will come back with news , because the software crash after that...
Haha.. seem that matterform forgot that there were other system / language in the the world than english..
There software didn't like the decimal separation of french windows. ( "," instead of ".")
Patch WIP
I am very disappointed that Matterform didn't say that I needed win8.1 64 bit to run the scanner. All it says is Recommended: Windows 7+, Mac OS 10.7+ I just found out when I tried to download the software. They said they didn't know win 8.1 came in 32 bit., Now I am going to shell out another 100.00 or more to get win8.1 64 bit.If you don't have a 64 bit system it wont work unless you upgrade.
So, we have absolutely no reports of success yet :-). Obviously the beta testing is doing its job!
Almost finished updating 8.1(it's a real pain),Then I'll try the scanner. At least I got RH to connect.
I now see they updated the system requirements after I sent a email pointing that out.
update: it works somewhat, I managed to get one pretty good scan. The software still needs a lot of work, At least they are on top of it.
That stinks! I have no desire to upgrade to Win8.1. I don't know if a Matterform is sufficient reason.

It is supposed to work with Windows 7 as well. The problem above was with a 32 bit versus 64 bit system (only works on 64 bit at the moment).
Of course in the original matterform web page it said linux, but they dropped that (for now, at least). I've got a 64 bit Windows 7 virtual machine I hope I can use to run the software when I they finally ship the production units.
Here is my 1st successful scan
