Topic: Research on 3D printer communities

Hello Everyone,

I am a researcher with the University of Texas and I am working on a project about 3D printer communities. I am really appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to answer my 15 question survey about why you share knowledge in a community, such as this one. The survey can be found at the address below.

Thank you

Thanks. I really appreciate it.

It would be really great if some people could also take the survey. It is pretty and would help with my project.

Re: Research on 3D printer communities

Did the survey yesterday once I saw the post.
But if I may ask, what is the intention or theory behind this survey? Seems more like a business study rather than tech.

Printit Mason and Printit Horizon printers
Multiple SD2s- Bulldog XL, E3D v5/v6/Lite6, Volcano, Hobb Goblin, Titan, .9 motor, Lawsy carriages, direct Y drive, fishing line...the list goes on
Filawinder and Filastruder #1870.....worth every penny!

Re: Research on 3D printer communities

OK, I've taken the survey as well.  It's simple enough.

@ Haggadone:
FYI, in the survey you have one question that is repeated twice.
"To Learn from the Experience of others"

You might want to fix that, as well as the spelling in the next question:
"I do so altruistically, I am just want to help others for the sake of helping."

To print or, 3D print, that is the question...
SD3 printer w/too many mods,  Printrbot Simple Maker Ed.,  FormLabs Form 1+
AnyCubic Photon, Shining 3D EinScan-S & Atlas 3D scanners...
...and too much time on my hands.

Re: Research on 3D printer communities

Thanks everyone.

The survey is looking at the motivations for why people share information online. While there is clearly some business aspects to it, I am more interested in the community side of it. I am really interested in finding out if people in the 3D printer community share their knowledge for different reasons than people in other communities.
