Topic: Motor squealing

Last night the motor on my Filastruder started squealing.  I looked in the forum to do some trouble shooting.  I started to check the coupling between the motor and the shank.  I took the motor off and plugged it in and it is still squealing with the motor just sitting there.  The squeal sounds like it is coming from the gearbox.

Could be failing. Run to failure and email me if you need a replacement. If you want, you could pull the motor to see if it's the motor gearbox.

I've heard infrequent squealing before, usually it went away after 20-30 hours.

I took the back off the gear box and it was definitely the gear box.  I messed around put some lithium grease I there played with the gears and it seems to have stopped.  I'm hooking it all back up and will let you know. 

I have mine mounted vertically and when I had the motor box sitting horizontal, it seemed to quit.
