Topic: Slic3r: Maximum infill thickness can't exceed nozzle diameter.

Every time I try to slice an .stl I get this error now. I haven't changed any settings since successfully printing a yoda head last night (except layer height from .1 to .3). I even tried reslicing the yoda.stl today and got the error again. I'm going to try uninstalling then reinstalling but I would like to know if this is happening to anyone else. I tried googling the error but I couldn't understand anything I found. Thanks!

You still have fill set to every 3 layers, which means it is trying to print fill at .9.

It's like Ian is saying, when you're printing at 0.1mm, you can choose every 3 layer, but if you choose 0.3 layer height, you can only choose every 1 layer.

Now that I learned this I feel like an idiot. Thank you for the great support!

Re: Slic3r: Maximum infill thickness can't exceed nozzle diameter.

Slicer insists on changing my settings to "infill every 2 layers", even when I go "infill every 1 layer" --> Save (default nozzle) and it shortly thereafter returns to Infill Every 2 layers.

It's a very weird bug that I think exists.  I can't find solutions online, except one person who has a similar problem. Is anyone familiar with this?

Anyway, I've simply taken ".17" layer height to be my "thick" and .1 layer height as normal. It works fine, except that for calibration purposes I'd like to do a few .3 layer pieces.  SF I've never figured out how to work properly (I feel committed to Slicer)

The current slic3r 0.9.5 fixed that bug.  There is a Repetier update that includes it. Sometimes using the arrows instead of entering a value works.

Hmm, I think I updated to the most recent repetier host. I also noticed my slicer is 9.6.   I'll give a shot at finding the init file and editing it in there, and seeing how that works smile.

Re: Slic3r: Maximum infill thickness can't exceed nozzle diameter.

I go to my repetier-host program files, which apparently is a 64-bit install because it doesn't show up in "program files x86". However, I search "*.ini" and can't find any ini files that correspond with slicer settings.

I seem to recall that repetier saves the slicer settings somewhere in a .ini file, but I can't find mention of that anymore.

When Slic3r changes back the settings, it works for me to put in a way off number first, than save, and then change to the desired settings. It work always. But hope as said the newer versions fixes this... smile

The newest version hasn't resolved it for me the method you have mentioned works fairly well.

When you say "way off settings" do you mean, for the layer infill skip setting? Or for every setting?

I would just test right now by putting in 'every 900 layers' but I'm actually trying to get my computer back and running from a nasty virus (first time in a decade. -The woes of streaming a new t.v show from disreputable sites.)
