Re: 50% Discount to Try BotFeeder 3D Filament. 100 Limits

Order at 1:58pm today, got a text message while at the gym @ 3:24pm saying they were going to hand deliver it in less than an hour was anyone home.  Told him to leave it between the screen door and door if no one home.  I get home at 4:10pm, there it is.... wow... I can't speak to quality of the filament yet (1.75mm Orange), but it is very well vacuum packed on a spool, desiccant inside, looks nice smile  But the service... wow I gotta say thats trying to make a happy customer!

It probably does help I live ~ 20km away from them!

Hopefully report on the results later today, I'm so very disapointed with the Solidoodle natural filiament, it's always making popping sounds and just seems brittle before and after it goes into the extruder.  The Solidoodle black was fine.

Re: 50% Discount to Try BotFeeder 3D Filament. 100 Limits

Got mine yesterday. Good packaging, vacuum sealed with silica. I got the red. Diameter was right on at 1.75mm. It is spooled nice. I did a large test print which went through 9 meters. There are no kinks, and no visual defects or contaminations.

This runs as good as what I use for my standard for filament, which is zentoolworks. Its good stuff. While intro price is a great deal, you will have to be the jugde whether $40 is is acceptable.

EDIT: I am also in the USA. No problems with shipping.

Mine seems to be stuck in MISSISSAUGA.

Anyone that ordered from the US have any input? Does it get stuck in customs for a while? Not in a major hurry just wondering if something got messed up.

Mine seemed to be stuck there last I checked, too.

Mine (to the US) seems to be stuck somewhere also.

I got a note this afternoon from the supplier (before I had a chance to even look into it) that indicated he had opened an inquiry with the Canadian Postal Service because he had noticed that mine had not been delivered yet. Their initial guess was that it was stuck in Customs, but they are checking.

It's very heartening in these days to get a note like that from a supplier without having complained first. Big Plus.

UPDATE 2/1/14..got my delivery of black today in upstate NY, all vacuum packed, etc. At the discounted price, I decided I would finally try black.  Haven't done anything with it yet.

Re: 50% Discount to Try BotFeeder 3D Filament. 100 Limits

Ok, I've now had some time to print inbetween the PLA disaster (nothing to do with this filament).

So I've been printing with the Orange, it is working very well, adhering to layers, no popping sounds from the extruder during printing, so no bubbles.  I can't find my micrometer so I haven't got it 100% calibrated, seems in it's current state of calibration +10% seems to be the sweet spot for everything.  All in all, looks to be a good product.

The price is high, 1) being in USD, with the current CDN dollar being not good and not getting better any time soon...  It strikes me that being a Canadian store it should be in CDN bucks.  2) The price is above average, even with the free shipping, standard seems to be $35 USD with free shipping.

The service was very good, but there are rare moments when I need filament that quickly.  I will order from this vendor again.

Re: 50% Discount to Try BotFeeder 3D Filament. 100 Limits

Its probably very helpful for them to do business in USD, because they buy their materials in USD. I can say from experience dealing with the fluctuation with the canadian dollar is a pain in the ass when running a business.

Re: 50% Discount to Try BotFeeder 3D Filament. 100 Limits

I'm pretty impressed and happy with the black that I got through the special offer. I had low expectations and it's blown them away so far.

It calibrated as a tight 1.75mm, .89 extrusion multiplier, and running at 190 degrees C. My usual filaments run at 195 to 200. I've had no problems with the couple items I've printed, have swapped between it and other various ABS filaments, and have had no clogs, bubbles, or problems of any kind. It looks very smooth and dull black.

It's encouraging, as I've always stayed away from black due to the variety of problems that others have reported across the vendors.

Please excuse the dust, etc. on the print photo...I'm just in the midst of cleaning it for finishing.
