Topic: Do you find ambient room temperature affecting prints?

With the Solidoodle cover on, would you expect that ambient room temperature would make much of a difference in print quality?

Right now I have my SD setup in a non-heated area of my workshop where the ambient temp could possibly drop into the 50's and I am wondering if it would be better in my home office area where it is warmer.

I know that I will have the issues of fumes in a living area but that is what windows are for. smile

It definitely will, on larger prints. If ambient drops 10C, you can expect the build volume to do about the same.

Anything that fits in a 3x3x3" cube should be fine regardless of temperature, the stresses aren't significant enough to split layers in my experience.

Mine is on my kitchen table and I print without the cover on.  I've printed equally as well with the sliding glass door open as I do when it's closed.  I have a 50 deg breeze blowing right across it and I still print fine.  I think with the cover on you should be okay.  I'm not doing anything crazy though.  Maybe the overhangs or .1mm printing would see a difference.

This seems to vary printer to printer.
