Topic: Opening a Physical Retail Store
Hi, thanks for letting me join and post here!
I'm in the process of opening a physical retail store specializing in 3d printers and 3d printable merchandise. I believe it's time for everyone to see a variety of printers in a physical location, where they can ask questions and get help assembling them. The general public will probably get there first taste of 3d printing from a store like mine.
To get started I've opened a fundraiser on fundable.com, a crowd funding site for start up businesses. For helping me start I'm offering rewards that give back money in the form of retail space. For everyone that helps me I'll print and display there 3d printable creation on my shelves, right in front of customers. Then everytime it sells I'll send the artist %10 of the purchase price. Then, then, when their time on the shelves are done I'll add the item to an in-store catalog FOREVER. Yep, potential FOREVER money. Plus I also have some awesome rewards for non-artist in the form of employee discount.
My venture has already yielded great connections. Acuity Design will be a re-seller in my store with their Helix 3d printer, and we have gotten press. See our news story on facebook .com/3dprintitNH
Let me know what you think!
Thanks!
