Topic: PLA in Australia

Hi

Has anybody had any luck sourcing PLA pellets in Australia?

There seems to be maybe only 1 or 2 very large plastics companies and I don't think they would cater for the smaller individual Filastruder home operators.

Does anybody know where the best place to source them from would be?

Cheers,

Re: PLA in Australia

I have been looking too.
I agree, and the solution is to ask a store to buy and sell it for us...

CaptCrush is working on it, I think he's tracked down a supplier (my3dmedia).

Yeah,

It's mainly for him.

He's got a really nice set up already so if anybody can funnel PLA his way then I'd be more than happy.

My3Dmedia has been really good. Prompt order and delivery times and good product and packaging.

Re: PLA in Australia

Bit of a FYI, I looked into getting Natureworks 4043D PLA until I got quoted $20 per kg, this was for a 300kg order through there reseller in Australia (LYBINA). I have not been able to find a decent priced supplier of PLA yet in Australia.

Re: PLA in Australia

I am close to finalising a deal to supply Natureworks PLA.  Pricing is still being finalised, but my intent is to provide them in Australia at a price that is comparable or better to importing them, especially for larger sizes.

If you are interested please let me know by posting a comment on our Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/my3dmedia and let me know the  that you are interested in PLA and an idea of the number of Kg you would be interested in.

Im not looking for commitments from people, just an idea of demand so I can stock accordingly.

thanks

Darren
