Topic: After very first print, extruder not heating up anymore ?

As the title says, after my very first print, I lowered the temp of the extruder to 80 while skeinforge was finishing slicing my next attempt...

When I turned it back up to 200, it kept going down, and now it just won't go up.

Where do I start ?
I tried resetting the printer and just unplugging it, letting it cool and starting again, same result.

First print was fantastic, I just want to keep going !

Thanks for the help

Well this sucks.
There is voltage at the heater core, so I'm guessing the heater is just done...
After a 9 minutes print sad

So I jiggled the connector with the green wires, and it seems to have done the trick, now I'm just worried that it would get cold mid-print, I will keep an eye on it.

Tape it down, and ask Solidoodle for a new one.  Might as well have a new one on the way in case the connection breaks completely.

Yeah I guess I will do that, this time it happened mid print, I appreciate the fact that there is a check before trying to extrude through a cool extruder...

I guess I will get a new one on the way...

Thanks for the help.

It saves a lot of damage.

Former Solidoodle employee, no longer associated with the company.

Well its been a week, and with Sandy on top of things, I don't think my new hot end has been shipped...
I though waiting for the printer was bad...
Having one sitting idle on my desk is worse...
