Topic: Any interest in my SD3

I am thinking of selling my SD3 and starting over or building my own. I would be selling it as it sits now with all improvements including but not limited to:

  • Ramps 1.4 Electronics upgrade with fan extender, Reprap Discount Controller LCD and SD reader and 4 DRV8825 stepper drivers

  • Borosilicate Glass Bed and QU-BD Heater

  • My Version of the Thread-less ballscrew with extra blanks for future use

  • Jigsaw Replacement Extruder with E3D, extruder fan and .9 degree stepper motor

  • 350 Watt Power Supply

  • Aluminum Bed and spare Wooden Bed (original)

  • Replacement Carriages with LM8UU bearings

  • Overkill Y-Idler brackets installed

  • Y motor replaced with 5kg Stepper (no skipping)

  • Filament Alarm

  • Will also include my M5 Slopnut and M5 rod with flexible coupler

  • 4 x Spare A4988 Stepper Drivers

  • .4mm Tip for E3D as well as the .25mm Tip installed

  • Also included will be thumb drive with all of my RH and Slicer setups

The case will be removed since it has cracked already and will only break further in shipment. The price point will be somewhere around $1400. I will post some print example photos if there is interest.

SD3 w/ mods:
Glass bed with QU-BD heat pad upgrade, threadless ballscrew w/ 8mm smooth rod, spectra line belt replacement, lawsy MK5 extruder, Lawsy replacement carriage, E3D hotend, Ramps 1.4 w/ reprap discount controller, DRV8825 drivers, 12v 30A PS, Acrylic case, Overkill Y-idlers, Filament alarm, Extruder fan + more.

So the journey turned out to be a lot more fun than the destination?   I imagine you would want to figure out what you want to do next before you sell the printer so you can print whatever parts you might need while you still have it.

The journey is always more fun... Just thinking of a new venture where I can make HD solidoodles and sell them. They would be a bit less involved than this one but would have some key improvements that would make them print like $2000 machines for half the price.

If you can hang on long enough to work out the dual bowden doodle that would be the killer app for this.   I don't think there is an assembled dual extruder anywhere near $1000,  certainly not with high temp hot ends.

This unit is kinda close to $1000. Was looking at it before I purchased my solidoodle 2.
