Topic: Calling all of those with dropped e-mail

We are working on resolving our G-mail related support issues. As some of you know, our e-mail system has been dropping e-mails. To fix this we need users who have experienced the problem (a small, but important minority!) to send us the relevant message headers.

Here is how:

To help us investigate, please ask the sender for the original copy of the most recent message you didn't receive, along with the full message headers. You can direct them tohttp://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=22454 for instructions. Ask the sender to save the headers as a .txt file, using the Save As... option in the Internet Explorer or Safari Filemenu, or the Save Page As... option in the Firefox File menu. It's important that the information is saved using the File menu, rather than copying and pasting it into a new document. The sender should then forward the file to you as an attachment.

Send these to [email protected], and we will be able to resolve the problem with Google for good.

Can you send your header directly to [email protected]?

Re: Calling all of those with dropped e-mail

Do you think that it'd maybe be a good idea to set-up an auto responder.

something that just says your message is important to us and we're dealing with your issue.

that way people know if their messages are received without having to wait a few days. if you don't get the auto-response then you'll know that your message disappeared into the ether.
