Topic: Generate extra perimeters when needed

In the left corner you can see there is one line "missing" in the parallellogram-shape. I have the "Generate extra perimeters when needed" checked. Is that its job to fill these gaps?

That is a different problem. Slicing software often won't put in any fill when the area is very small. What you are seeing is the correct perimeters with no infill.

But will it fill the rest if I make higher infill? It is just 0.4 now. If I put in 1.0, will it then leave no gaps?

Re: Generate extra perimeters when needed

I'm guessing no because the top and bottom layers should be 100% but it didn't print them.

Two ideas:

1. Upping the amount of perimeters until there is no room to fill.

2. Changing the thread thickness in Slic3r (Printer settings > advanced) to 80% or something like that. It will make everything smaller so Slic3r thinks the fill will fit, and consequently add it.

Whatever you change, preview the g-code first in Repetier-Host to save plastic.

Re: Generate extra perimeters when needed

Slicer 0.9.3 has a bug related to hexagon fill and Generate Extra Perimeters.  Try changing those and see if there is any difference.  Also try 0.7.2b.  The 9 releases have had a lot of issues.

lawsy: I will try them both to see which one suits best for this purpose. The preview is super nice, saves a lot of tears midway in a print.

Ian: I can try installing the 0.7.2b. Now my Repetier went down during a print. Didn't like that sad
