Topic: I'm Daniel Brooks, founder of 3D Pinpoint
Hi all,
I thought I would reach out and introduce myself. My name is Daniel Brooks, founder of 3D Pinpoint.
I am in the development phase of forming my startup, called 3D Pinpoint. It is a community for owners of 3D printers, and customers who want or need things printed. A completely custom-built PHP/MySql website, complete with a back-end database, and an Admin panel for me to manage accounts and track progress. Printer owners will be able to create a user profile, list their printer and specifications, and upload images, and accept ratings and feedback publicly on their profile, and whether or not you prefer to ship your print, or meet locally. A working STL viewer will display any 3D models when uploading files. Customers will be able to search by zipcode or city, and find the nearest 3D printer to their location. Since the search functionality queries the database of all registered printers, anyone, anywhere in the world can list their printer.
I would like some feedback from customers who have used similar sites - such as Makexyz or 3DHubs. What did you like, what did you not like?
I had someone contact me about all 3D printer listers creating a sort of "test print", and uploading the result onto their user profile, so that there is a unified way of determining print quality. So, I am letting him create the model test print for our website.
What things would you like to see included?
Kind Regards,
Daniel Brooks
