Anyone else using ABS pellets from carlsievering off of eBay? I'd ordered it before OSPrinting had any available. I tried coloring it red but it came out pink. I'd like to try making some black filament with it but I suspect it'll just come out grey. What should the ratio for it using the black master batch?
I bought one pound from Carl's ebay store. The problem is that white pellets contain white colorant, which is why your filament is coming out pink. Mixing ABS colorant is subtractive not additive.
You need natural (uncolored) ABS pellets to to make colored filament.
Thanks. I guess I'll be making a lot of white or maybe some pale colors. I like the filament made from the pellets although the Filastruder really goes slow making it.
You could try bumping the temp up, but it sounds like the pellets you have have a pretty low MFI. You can also mix them 50/50 with higher MFI pellets, like MG94.
I emded up with anout 10 lbs of the white and 18 lbs of the natural from him. I just got my shipping notice for my Filastruder yesterday though 
so I'll let you know.
I've been going for about 24 hours now on the white pellets, and have only extruded a pound or so. This last batch is looking pretty clean, so I am going to try printing it.
I printed a calibration angle with the grey. .3 mm layers on a printrbot with a .4mm nozzle. Bumped the temp up from 210 to 225.Green is ABS from matterhackers. I might have printed it at .2
