Aren't the pellets going to spill out the bottom of the hopper? Or is there another part that isn't on there yet?

The hopper has changed and the fitment is much better (no gap).

Interesting, is that meant to hang off the end of the table or perhaps be extruding downwards at an angle?
I refer to the bulbous part bottom right of the case.

They're' feet (3 points creates a plane) it should sit flat on most uneven surfaces.
