Topic: Hi there

Hi all,

I'm new to 3D printing, but am getting excited about it.

My new SD2 was ordered a couple weeks ago (#13019) and I'm awaiting it's arrival.  Looking forward to being frustrated from what I've been reading here.

Lots of great stuff here, thank you all.  I'm sure it's going to help a ton getting started and staying running.  I've already taken some of what I have read here to heart & started to prepare for my SD to get here.

My interest in SD is work related, researching whether it will help with my job.  I'm a plastics mold designer by trade (35 years and counting) - I make 3D models all day every day - using Solidworks.  However, as it would seem that most in this forum, it's also about having fun and learning new tricks.  Even the old dogs like me can learn a new trick now and again.

Welcome to the board.  May you enjoy your printer more and have less frustrations from the wisdom gained.

Been designing plastics molds for 35 years.  Started out on the drafting board, moved to 2D then to 3D.  Eventually to Solidworks in 1998.

If you have a modeling problem please let me know.  I would be glad to try and help.
