Anyone have experience using purging compound?
Now that is interesting what does it do??
Would you extrude it or just to flush the auger without the extruder plug.
Maybe for initial breakin it might help.

I googled it, looks interesting. You run it to empty, then run 1 or 2 barrels full of the compound. It is supposed to stick to polymers and pigments and drag them out without sticking to metal. It looks a lot better than trying to clear one polymer with another (ABS to PLA) and a lot easier than a tear down and torch out.
You can swap hot ends (flange barrel couple plug) but this might be easier. I wonder how well it cleans out powdered pigment.
Yup, Ian nailed it. It's what the pros use to clean out the previous polymer. It's not completely necessary for us since it's pretty easy to take the nozzle off and reach in with pliers, but it might be fun to play with.
