Topic: updating firmware

As I am not that familiar with that, is there any recourse if the update fails?Will it render the board useless?

SD3, E3D hotend,linear bearing on x/y axis',pillow block bearing on y conneting rod, ball bearngs on front y axis, fan on y stepper motor.

Hard to 'brick' it so to speak... worst case you could corrupt the bootloader but you can do that if you try hard enough without trying to upgrade firmware.

The 'get out of jail card' is to have a cheap ebay/aliexpress ISCP programmer, such as one of the atmel ICE clones etc.

But the board itself is as 'robust' as the Arduino platform is, which is used by hundreds of thousands of people everyday without issue (since everything involves 'flashing' the 'firmware' everytime you change a sketch....)
