Topic: [MOD] USB webcam mount

Okay, this might not be the very best place for the camera, but it looks like it is the only place, where the camera will NOT get hit by the print head. It is useful, if you are sending the prints over the network and can save you a few minutes.
I have a 2nd gen solidoodle, so I decided to make use of the top two screws that hold the filament, to avoid any drilling of the case.

Camera
I used a very cheap (~5$) camera from ebay, that had a nice clip and manual focus/pan/tilt.
The clip itself is very useful to take out the glass bed once the print is done, so don't throw it away.

Parts
A pair of M3 bolts ~35cm or more, 2 M3 nuts and discs.
2 3d-printed parts attached below. I printed them at .15 layers with 0.6 infill. (STLs are attached)

That's pretty slick! Would be good for checking in on 12 hour prints while at work, then maybe connecting via remote desktop to change settings/pause/cancel etc if something is wrong. Better than a pile of spaghetti when you get home expecting a done part. smile

No trees were harmed in the creation of this email, though some electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

Re: [MOD] USB webcam mount

Well, my plan is getting one of those MK802 from china and connecting the webcam directly to it.
Octoprint so far looks like the best web-based UI and supports webcams natively
