Topic: Annoying problem

For lack of a better place, I  will post this here.  Easy to visualize, a little difficult to explain.  May be a picture will work...

http://soliforum.com/i/?CiwDyN3.jpg

Now, I come here at least twice a day.  No way are there this many unread topics, I don't think there has ever been this many unread topics.  Look for example at the Atlas heading.  It goes back to September last year.  Go a little further...  I open the Filastruder heading for example.

Every heading is similar, numerous 'unread' entries.  The only way I have found to get rid of the problem is to open each entry and exit each one. I have rebooted,  restarted the forum, deleted all pertinent cookies, deleted all cookies, deleted the forum tab, restarted Firefox, reinstalled the tab and everything is still there.  I have gone into Firefox and deleted everything with the soliforum name.  I will not change browsers.  I use Firefox and have since it's inception. I periodically use M$ Edge and I will not use chrome.    No other site does this.

This will take an hour or so to clean up until the next time - tomorrow, next week next month it'll be back. I have been fighting this for over a year.  It's getting old...

Any help appreciated.

Re: Annoying problem

Thanx.
In 9 years on the forum, I never ventured out to find the simple solution.  I wonder what causes the problem to begin with...

Thanx again

Re: Annoying problem

I use Firefox Religiously and have never seen this. Could it be a security setting you have enabled? I'm all default.

Re: Annoying problem

I'm all default also with no add-ons and 2 plug-ins both installed by Firefox.  When it does this, sometimes it goes back 1 month or like above 5 or 6 months.  I delete and reset everything I'm aware of with no effect.

I dunno...

Re: Annoying problem

i also use firefox - dont like chrome and refuse to use IE... and i have seen this before.. maybe not that badly, but yeah.. a month or so back.
does not happen often enough for me to warrant getting wound up over it tho.. maybe a couple times a year.
And keen's post above is about the easiest, fastest way of "resetting" the works.. maybe a quick look at dates to make sure I am not missing anything of interest.

Re: Annoying problem

I won't use chrome cuz every time I go near it for other reasons, it installs itself.  Then when I uninstall it it has the audacity to ask why, and I commence telling it in less than civil terms that I do not appreciate rogue software installing itself without my permission.
I don't get wound up about the post problem, it's just annoying.  Essentially, I could ignore it.  I come here a few times a day and I suppose I could just look at the post date in the right hand column and look for 'Today'.
And you are right, keen's post is the easiest.  Like I said, I've been here a while and never researched all the ins and outs of the forum - my bad.
Well, enough of this, I'm gonna make a bloody mary being that I'm holed-up with a positive covid test for a few more days.  Hafta find some place to buy more test kits everyone is out, the free test takes 3 days, and the government freebees, if you will be able to get near the site tomorrow nite will take 7 to 10 days, if our lazy postal system  feels like delivering anything...
