I am getting parts to upgrade my 1.0a to a Titan extruder. I already have the E3d v6 hot end installed so this should be a pretty straight forward upgrade. Still could use any suggestions if you have something.
the titans are nice I have installed 2 . read the online instructions and be prepared to fabricate a shim so the gear is properly aligned . also yo need to increase steps to the motor by a factor of 3 and reverse motor direction either electrically or in the firmware.
I plan to replace the extruder motor when I install the Titan. I have read many threads on this, but none really confirm what is best motor.
This would be my choice.

One thing that I would like to do is avoid cutting into the OEM harness if possible. Is there a small (pancake) motor that is a plug and play for the OEM motor?
Or if not is there a way to plug into the OEM harness with a plug that will also plug into the motor? I see many motors come with wires directly connected and others with "jacks" that accept a plug that looks similar to the plug that is in my existing motor.
The edo comes with a couple variations of wire harness. And connector kits are pretty available if you are up to making your own. Someone here who has done this mod may be able to help.
Take your time do your homework.
I know that this is very old information to the forum, but I am new to 3D printers and this was given to me. So I can play with it and learn.
As you may know by now the davinci has a bit of an infamous reputation. factory support is pretty much non existent . Great marketing ,manufacturing and engineering not so good.
That said i have seen folks make good printers from them with lots of mods.
Personally i avoid that brand. Good luck with your mod.
