Does it heat when you use the preheat function from the menu?
yea it preheats fine and its not the printer , since I wrote a bit of my own g.code and it preheated , so now I am going to try to simply use one line from the g.code that aparantly heats the nozzle . Heres the g.code link
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kCZ … sp=sharing
its marlin so my printer can run it
I will try running one line of g.code freom this file
I ran one line and it worked fine . Oh yea and my first print with slic3r worked fine . I did tinker with the filament settings. but all I did was turn off fans , since Im printing with abs
Another update it seems it just starts moving it doesnt try to heaat the nozzle only the bed

Post your complete start gcode as is. Let's see what it is doing?

oh sorry https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kCZ … sp=sharing ???
this is the gcode it gave me
it works when I preheat . If after I start preheating I start the print the bed tempature heats to what I set in slic3r instead of what it normally preheats to . I cant know if its the same with the nozzle because I have that set to what the printer preheats to

This is what it should do. Slicer settings always override manual settings. So yes it will heat to preheat temps. But once you start the print it will change to the settings in the slicer. Is this what I understand is happening?
I dont think so , because when I print without preheat it says I set the nozzle to 0 so no heat . But when I first preheat and then print itl heat the nozzle to the tempature when it normally preheats . Im lucky that the tempature I was going to print with was the same as when it preheats (not from slic3r)
which version of slic3r are you trying to use?
I ask because there are several variations out there, and each is slightly different
I have had a similar problem with Slicer, Slicer PE, and Cura.
If I start a print and I"m not already at or above the start temps for both bed and extruder, it just sits there and does not heat up to temp. I've used all three of these slicers and upload to Octoprint. I just have my pre-heat temps a few degrees above my print temp. As long as I don't start a print before it reaches temp, it works fine.
I assume it's my start gcode but it looks good to me and my workaround is easy enough.
Im using the 64bit version thez have on there website https://dl.slic3r.org/win/
for windows
huh it worked this time I just got rid of the appdata under
interesting.
Wait is Pruca slicer slic3r?
yes, Prusa Slic3r is based on the original Slic3r
