Topic: Looking for da Vinci mini Hot End ? Replacement?

Hello

I need to replace my Hot End because I am not able to unclogging the Nozzle with the cleaning option of the printer. I am not able to press the 0.4mm wire through the nozzle!

I read something that it should be possible to burn it with a propane torch, but I haven't such a tool
Is there a way to separate the Nozzle & Heater from the Aluminium Cooling Shaft?

Is their a way to get only the part on the picture

A complete new Printhead is to expensive! The original replacement of the whole Print Cartridge RSM3WXY100B costs € 120

In Aliexpress I found dozen of such parts but the measure are not seriously documentated :-(

Re: Looking for da Vinci mini Hot End ? Replacement?

Hello

I disassemble the Hot End and have some Questions about the thread of the individual parts.
http://soliforum.com/i/?JC0TS23.jpg

1) One End of the Tube and the Filament Guide is M6. All other is non metric ?!?
2) What is the Thread of the Feeding Tube Grip X1 and the other end of the Tube
3) The end of the Filament Guide is nearly M6 but much finer. What is the Thread of the Heat Block?
4) The Tube has a length of 10.8mm. I want to replace it with a Tube with a length of about 2, 2.5 or 3cm

5) What is the Distance between the top of the Heat Block and the top of the Heat Sink. This is important that the Calibration of the "da Vinci mini" works correct

Maybe someone has all the Measures!

Wouldn't it be better to ask XYZ all this? Most of us that had an XYZ created a new carriage or adapter so we could use  an E3D V6. We got rid of the original as it is garbage. Many of us got rid of the controller as well and converted to Ramps. But us smart ones got rid of the XYZ machines all together or pawned them off on some other fool.

@carl_m1968

I know the answer from XYZ already even before I write them the question. "buy a replacement Print Cartridge RSM3WXY100B costs € 120"

I hope someone in this forum have done some debugging of the hardware and knows the measures of the Threads

Re: Looking for da Vinci mini Hot End ? Replacement?

the simple solution is to drill out the blockage, takes no time at all.
when it happened to mine i used a 1.4mm drill bit (for 1.75mm filament) for the blockage.
once you drill through most of the blockage then put it back together and set it for the clean nozzle.
your cleaning tool should push through the last of the blockage.

my lesson learned from it is never use black PLA

as for Carl's comment
yep i was one of those fools, knew nothing of 3d printing and a "m8" sold me his "excellent" davinci jnr 1.0w
knowing what i know now no way i would have bought it but at the same time i am still using it and am 90% happy with it tbh.

Also don't use anything but PLA in it. It is not designed to run anything else.

When I look in their Webshop they offer as Spare-parts for the "da Vinci mini w" an Hardened Steel Nozzle for US$79 (€120 ?!?)

Description: Upgrade to our wear-resistant nozzles, specially designed for printing metallic PLA and carbon fiber on compatible models of our 3D printers.

Maybe something changed ?!?

It says Stainless for PLA, and the CF they are talking about is just PLA with CF powder in it.Their CF which is does say XYZ CF is not the same as third party CF. All fill materials like Wood, metal and even glow in the dark PLA all need to be printed with a stainless steel nozzle as the brass nozzle will wear with just one spool due to how abrasive fill materials are.

Re: Looking for da Vinci mini Hot End ? Replacement?

So I sorted out the following
1) The "Feeding Tube Grip X1" has a thread M5!
2) The thread of the Heat Block is still unknown but I was able to assemble everything.

I used a new Feeding Tube Grip. I am still looking for an Extended Version of the Tube (between Heat Sink & Feeding Tube Grip) with a length of at least 20mm - 25mm. This will be difficult to find it in a Version with both M5/M6-Thread. Probably I will replace the Feeding Tube Grip another time, but now with an M6-Thread (PC4-M6) and then use a Tube with both sides M6-Thread.

The best solution should be to find a Feeding Tube Grip with a total length of 35mm & M6-Thread but this is probably looking for a needle in a haystack.
