Topic: Cutting a model into pieces??

Hey all, I have need of cutting up models to make them fit in my printing envelope. I technically Van in blender. But it's less than desirable. I have read that you can do it in the free version of netfabb. But when I try, I get this:

I don't have much interest in paying $1000 for netfabb professional. So.... What do I do?

Look for cutting with a plane.  You can still do that, this error seems to be for drawing the cutting line directly on the mesh.
