Topic: Hotend Board for sale or advice

I have 2 davinci jr's and one of them had the original hotend, the other E3D V6. The printer with the original hotend stopped telling the temperature correctly, so i thought an upgrade was in order, and got a V6, this is what i have done so far
> replaced the temp sensor with 5 different ones to no avail, and tried the one from the other printer no luck. I tried each senor in my multimeter and they work just fine.
> replaced the heat block twice, still showing random temps
> changed the main lead from the hotend to the mainboard, no difference
> With the printer switched on and no temp sensor plugged in, it was showing 63c so i added resistance to the pins and the readout changed, so it is getting information, just the information it is receiving is wrong
> changed the hotend board from the other printer and everything is working fine
> put the dodgey board on the modded printer and it stopped telling the temp

so i think the board is naffed, i cant afford a complete hotend from xyz or reprap, anyone have one for sale from a reprap conversion, or anyone have any advice for a fix or what to check on the hotend board

Re: Hotend Board for sale or advice

Try a visual inspection of the wiring connecting the hotend board to the controller.  You might find some tired connections at the crimp terminals going into the housing.

I have a Pro 3 in 1 that had a bad ground and caused all kinds of problems before I crimped new terminals on.

An additional test would be to remove the connector from the hotend and insert a 24 AWG solid wire insert into a terminal and do the same connection at the controller side connector.  Using your DMM check for high resistance on all the positions to detect a possible wiring problem.
