Topic: XYZWare vs. XYZWare Pro

I have a 1.0 AiO and am not very happy with ABS prints. Layers tend to separate on larger parts. I know I can port the machine to another firmware but I don't want to lose the scanner. I've been able to improve a little using the trainer http://www.soliforum.com/topic/ … e-trainer/ hack. I also downloaded the pro version of XYZWare and was able to print a part once. The odd thing is, it ignored the fact that I don't have a pro machine the first time but after that, it refused to print throwing a wrong machine signature error. The print that came out was, however, better than those from the normal slicer. So, I have two questions:

Other than the better parameter control, what is the difference between pro and normal versions?

How can I make the pro version ignore my printer type and just get on with it?

Thanks.

Re: XYZWare vs. XYZWare Pro

That machine is only designed for PLA. Unless you can seal the enclosure and keep the inside very warm you will not be able to use ABS.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Re: XYZWare vs. XYZWare Pro

Sealing it up to keep it warm shouldn't be a problem but why do they specifically sell it for ABS?

In any case, I still would like to know how to get the pro version working again. There must be some way of tricking it to not look at the printer type.
