Welcome
Hi there! Yesterday I dug out a Solidoodle 4 that I bought 5+ years ago and was never used. I was able to install Soliprint, successfully got it hooked up to my computer and managed a small test print that mostly looked like I expected, but haven't been able to get anything else to work. Today I realized that the extruder was not close enough to the bed on one side, but I couldn't get it adjusted at all using the wingnuts. I also realized that the Hand Adjusted Z-Tab was not in right and had broken (pics attached). Novice doesn't even begin to describe me here. I don't know if I could replace the part that broke or if I should give up and stick it in a closet for another 5 years. Open to suggestions or ideas!
@hokiechef - super easy part to replace, and if you need help with that, I am more than willing to help out.
now, for software, go download Repetier Host and ditch Soliprint - that was mostly intended for the Press, not the SD4. Yes, it will work, but there are better alternatives.
and welcome aboard to both of you.
@heartless
Could you tell me where to look for the part that I can buy? And what it's called?
I had tried Repetier but it asked me for all sorts of info to connect to the machine that I had no idea what the answers were so I ended up uninstalling. I will try again. ;-) Thank you!

there is no where to just outright buy it. but it can be re-printed (at a higher infill than stock)
and I am more than willing to help you set things up properly, once that piece is replaced.
