Topic: Fast Printing

Fast printing (at least with our Marlin code) is definitely usable, but only for draft prints. That said, if I had a cooling fan, perhaps my test would have been as good as a slow print

Okay, some of you might not be adventurous, some of you might be. Let me break this down in order, the more adventurous you are, the further down the list you go. As soon as you don't like what you hear, stop at that level, you wont like the rest of it for sure.

Level 1 : I fear change!
Set your "Travel" to 300. Woah that's fast! It's okay, nothing is extruded when it's "travelling". It's just moving from A to B.

Level 2 : I'm dangerous on the inside!
Set your "infill" to 250. That's pretty fast too. This stuff you wont see, it'll be hidden inside of your model. I've tested this with 10% infill and it works perfectly. However, if I was doing 100% infill I'd drop this to 150 and 50% = 200. You get the idea.

Level 3 : Rough around the edges.
Set your "perimeters" to 90. These are the perimeters of your model, but not the very outside perimeter (that's the next level). These wont have much of an affect on the outside perimeter, but it might. The outside perimeter should cover up any sloppiness in these.

Level 4: Showing your scars
Set your "External Perimeter" to 60. This is the outside perimeter that everyone will see. I increased this when I could see what the printer was capable of, but not too much. Perhaps you can go further?

I have a short 10mb file showing 9 seconds of the printer in action, but that's too big to upload.

I printed the yoda in 58mins, I'll attach pictures soon.
