Topic: Yet another Carriage for the DV 1.0
Picked up a DaVinci 1.0 from the tip shop for 10$, thinking will be good for parts.
After cleaning dried gunk from the slide bars & lubing it is jogging perfectly.
Main board says 08-2014, it has about 130 hours on the log.
Missing the hot-end & after much researching I'm glad it is.
I'll do a firmware mod initially & change to a Ramps 1.6 board later on.
I'm used to subtractive mfg, cutting chips at 12krpm so looking forward to additive making things.
I have made a model in rhino for a new carriage, first I used SC08 bearings but they are a bit chunky for the small carriage but easy to fit, decided on SF-1 0815 Teflon lined plain bearings cheap & common.
It is designed to be made with a cutting CNC machine as I don't have a working 3D printer.
I plan to fit the stepper/filament feeder on the shelf where there are already Nema 17 mounting holes.
would appreciate any comment as it is wip prototype.
