Topic: Mini JTAG (SWD) help please

Hi Everyone

I have currently got an EDU mini hooked up to my Da Vinci Mini in SWD mode.

I am powering the chip via a 3.3v output from a Arduino uno. (leaving printer power supply disconected)

I have downloaded Ozone from the SEGGER website but cannot read the chip, what frequency should I be selecting in the software?

At the moment it says

Device "ATSAM4E8E" selected.
Connection failed.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Thanks mate,

Still struggling with this though.

Just checked the wiring with the multimeter and can confirm it is wired as below.  Still get a connection error in Ozone.

I have the Jlink EDU Mini plugged into the computer (Ozone sees it), the Jlink connected to the PCB then I supply 3.3v to the PCB

Then I click "start debug session" - "download and restart program" this then gives an error that it cant connect.

Why are you using ozone for an Atmel device versus Atmel Suite which is better suited for this device?

Haha I have no idea! I don’t have any experience with these chips or the Jlink

What instructions are you following? The ones here that I see say to use Bossac, Sam-ba, and jlink.

Re: Mini JTAG (SWD) help please

Morning,

Did a bit of reading in bed as I didnt know a lot about SWD connections.

Realized that Vtref is needed as its the target reference voltage. Its connected to the chip now
