Topic: opinions on carbon fiber 3d printing?

been doing some research on some filaments and need some help. I came across multiple resources and this one explains it the best, do you guys agree that carbon fiber is good for 3d printing? if so, what kind of pieces? thanks yall - creatorgirl

here is the thing.. the fibers are chopped up so small in order to go thru a nozzle, you gain pretty much none of the advantages of the material.

and it is not any lighter than standard materials are either.. in fact, it is heavier.

It is also very abrasive. It will destroy a brass nozzle in modern time. I am also sure there will be particulates released that could be very damaging to breath.

bottom line it is good if you need a really stiff part . Other choices are better for strength.
