Topic: Repetier or Other Firmware for Da Vinci 2.0a

Hey everyone,

Recently I bought a Da Vinci 2.0a from someone on craigslist and at first I was somewhat satisfied with the print quality until recently. Lately the extruder has been dragging across the prints and this is causing prints to break off of the bed or it's creating horrible quality prints. I understand I should change the z-hop (or something close to that) to alleviate that and I have noticed that the bed and extruder temperatures are too low for the ABS I'm trying to print with. The XYZ firmware is pretty terrible and won't let me change anything to try to fix the issues that I have so I think some third party firmware upgrade is in order. This leads into my issue.

For actually changing the firmware, I am unable to find any real helpful resources on how to do a proper firmware upgrade on this printer. I have seen videos online of how to do it but they are 5+ years old and the latest version of Repetier is a little different or they are doing it on a 1.0 and I have a 2.0a. I am able to find little bits and pieces of instructions on how to change the firmware but nothing is complete enough for me to actually do a full update. My question is: is there a complete enough and updated guide for me to get this printing working with Repetier or is there a different firmware that is easier to install? I'm really just looking to change a few basic settings to get better prints.

Thanks!!

Re: Repetier or Other Firmware for Da Vinci 2.0a

You'll have to flash the board with a work around like Marlin firmware. But you dont want to brick the board either so let me see what I did for my first Da vinci 1.0 AIO. Ill let you know what I did. as far as firmware goes I belive I used TH3D updated firmware/repetier host.
