Topic: Nozzle heat fluctuation. Why?

I have a dual extruder printer( Makerbot) and I have been having nozzle clogs. do to my heat dropping.
I thought it was the filament at first but then I noticed my temp fluctuating. I set yp to run ABS
I have the temp set to 241°c and while printing the left extruder fluctuates from 241°C to about 205°C
I am trying to figure out if it is the heater, thermistor, or board
which one do you think is the most likely culprit.

Thanks

Bad wire or connection to that heater cartridge.

Thanks Wardjr
it will be a lot quicker and easier than changing a board ot thermistor.

Re: Nozzle heat fluctuation. Why?

One more thing you might check. I HAD a Makerbot clone. It did not use thermistors. Instead it used thermocouples that where bolted to the side of the heatblock. If the screws securing them get loose that will cause temp reading fluctuations.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!
