Topic: Z Home Not Working Correctly

I have encountered an issue that I have been having trouble solving. While printing something through octoprint I noticed that a snag in the filament had caused the layers to shit. I stopped it remotely. I jogged the bed down via the octoprint interface and removed the print. I then proceeded to start a new print. After hearing the terrible sound of the z-axis stepper motor straining against the upper limit, I immediately powered down the printer. Since that point I have not been able to get z-home to work correctly and it constantly tries to force its way up all the while making that horrendous noise.

I have checked the eeprom settings with repetier host and z-home is set to 0. Everything I have tried has not proved helpful and I want to get some feedback before I potentially damage the stepper motors further. I am at a loss as to how to get the printer to correctly z-home again.

Re: Z Home Not Working Correctly

sound like a mechanical or electrical issue.
is the z end stop properly mounted is the button it is superposed to hit in  place and properly adjusted. Is the cable connector loose is a wire broke  can you manually activate it and check the state of the switch.
If using RH
Send a M119 command  check status then press the switch send again and see if it has changed
