Topic: leveling dual nozzles

I started out using the yellow plastic one but it has to much give which causes the nozzles to be unlevel
so I made up this and it works great.

Re: leveling dual nozzles

I just level the bed and then level the nozzles to the bed. Works great for me. But then again I also have the new German made all aluminum build platform and heated bed with magnetic removable glass and 10mm guide rods. So I know the bed is level and straight.

Why do you have a spacer on the lower end when both nozzles should be the same height?

Re: leveling dual nozzles

both pieces of aluminum square stock have a piece of .0625 flat bar on them to get the distance wright where the extruder sets on top. I just didn't trim the ends so they would be even length.

I went low-tech and used the bed and feeler-gauges.  I like the idea of building a fixture to speed up the process!

Re: leveling dual nozzles

Using the fixture requires take the heat block out every time? That will put heating element and thermistor wire in risk every time.

I'm kind of doing what Carl is doing, just take out one of the fans, leveling the bed, and make adjustment against print bed. (his upgrade Z-axis plus glass build plate upgrade cost more than my two CTC Dual combined though.)

My CTC  dual is the all metal first revision they no longer make and is was $900. My one printer probably cost more than all yours combined. But it prints great and is so quite I have to look to see if it is running while in the same room.

Re: leveling dual nozzles

I had to pull the whole unit because the thermocouple wire had come out of the threaded part that goes into the heater block. the other nozzle was also in bad need of being replaced and the screw that holds the heater in was seized up so I could not get the heater out so I replaced both nozzles at the same time.
