Topic: what is the proper lubrication for ABS printed parts?

I have some ABS  printed parts that have dovetailed slots and the parts are a little snug.
I used some P.T.F.E ( Polytetrafluoroethylene ) grease on them to get by tomorrow.
but is their anything better for ABS plastic.

Thanks

Anything not petro based should be fine. But if they are that snug then it sounds like you need to take your design back to the drawing board and increase or decrease the size of one half.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

old plastic model kits I have built like visible V8, Chassis etc said to use vegetable oil but DONT listen to them as it gels over time. I used Mineral oil with best long term results. also for brake fluid in the Renwal Visible Chassis so the screws inside dont rust and ruin things. it also keeps rubber from cracking. Vaseline and/or mink oil is what i have always used on leather boots and rubber scuba gear to keep things soft and fog free and I have a Coral brand Scuba Mask etc from 1974 in like new condition plus Chlorine pools will dry out rubber and ruin it very fast if not protected same way,  like the O rings in divers watches.

also use tiny fine needle files to smooth any burrs in grooves/threads etc so it wont bind/crack as all lube need small amount of room to stay working as plastic is Micro porous and oils get trapped in the Micro pours and tend to swell some plastics in warm temps like humidity can. so it needs a bit more clearance than Steel moving parts require. so Carl has the right idea too.
