Topic: Davinci Mini 3D printer Repetier firmware?

Hello guys, first time poster and new to the 3d printing scene. I have just bought a daVinci Mini 3d printer as my first 3d printer. It was affordable and I read it's a good starter printer. However, I am not too exited about being tied down to their filament. I've seen plenty of videos for flashing the v1 to repetier but absolutely nothing on the other models including the mini. So my question is, has anybody flashed their mini to repetier or is it even compatible? A little direction on how to go about it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

it is not compatible with mini or the Jr. right now. It may never be based on limited owners of these models. What most do is gut them and add a different open source controller and display.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!
Anycubic 4MAX best $225 ever invested.
Voxelabs Proxima SLA. 6 inch 2k Mono LCD.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am not yet familiar with open source alternatives. Do you know any of the top of your head that you could recommend?

Most are using RAMPS 1.4 and one of it's associated LCD's. You would also need endstops as the stock one would require installing in line pullup and limiting resistors.

Do you or have you actually owned one? I have and I can say that the 1.0 is junk in stock form.

I have also bought a mid-range affordable 3d-printer and I am quite satisfied with the experience. Its service center assistance is good and the online support https://supportnumbers.net/hp-support-assistant/ is very responsive.
