Re: semplify 3d question

That's not an optimal layout for such a print IMHO. If those can be separated, I would print each single dial on it's side and just put four to six and possibly eight on the plate. Those angled surface are going to have some ugly artifacts due to the exposed edge of each layer being wider there. They will appear as steps. Two color also works better when filling in on a vertical axis versus horizontal.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Thanks carl
I tried to print 1 ring when I was sending this and it failed bad!!! so I will go back to printing them flat and print less.
do you recommend  ooze control and prime piller.

Thanks

Re: semplify 3d question

I always recommend ooze control. Prime pillar would be helpful as well. I am still trying to master two color myself. It is not as easy as some make it look.

The biggest problem i have with Simplify 3d is aligning the 2 files.  Makerbot desktop make it seem easy.

Re: semplify 3d question

I personally prefer no ooze shield.  Instead I’ll try and optimize the location of a prime pillar.  Depending on your particular machine, the pillar can be rather small.  Say 10 x 10.  Placement of the pillar can have a pretty big impact on its effectiveness.  Typically I start with it in a far corner where I won’t mind bleed through of the colors or materials.
