trying to start scanner after long time to update

need some help connecting to my atlas scanner. it keeps trying to use IE instead of Firefox which is default browser and always was b4. seems it cant find scanner which is plugged into same router as my PC. power lights on. even tried WIFI and supposedly saved login on a usb and plugged it in scanner as it said to do. still nada just times out. how do I see port its supposed to be on? be nice if it would work again so I could update software from over 2 years ago since last ran. my internet provider has changed 3 times since then. cant remember how I 1st got it going back then. and my Sons dont help anymore with my IT needs and no income to hire somebody so I'm on my own.

so thats for my new internet provider login, does it have to login just to patch through router to my PC? Charter dont furnish router so I put Router between PC either-net and modem as I have Smart TV/Roku/WIFI also on router.
how do I make it use firefox instead of internet explorer? & Thanks BTW!

also the SD card is not even recognized by PC due to different format. the atlas run file has a place to input WIFI name/password and supposed to have thumb drive plugged in PC then click save and transfer thumb drive to PI USB slot to load it but when I do that it still uses IE and fails to open. if I copy the address in IE address line and past it in firefox same result just times out and cant connect. cant tell if anything is doing as it should with the odd USB drive data save/move. lights on PI blink a bit then NADA. I had no issue logging in before through either cable but WIFI was too slow on this old PI model. so does WIFI login also get used when direct cable to router? the drop down menu for details in the ATLAS3D_Windows.hta app shows text similar like you said but different things listed like

etc. have no clue what its for nor do I want to change any of it with my zero knowledge of it.

yeah tried the association thing but the atlas startup app uses another app to boot and no way to set what I cant identify seems its built into the atlas app which looks like a Dos file. my computer and AV has IE mostly disabled so dont know how its being used as if in background. power supply is just a cheap wallwart that plugs into port in atlas to power PI and Atlas laser board. got new replacement due to poor cord connection but they are the $1 China things. but yeah power is an issue on these. that propitiatory OS that runs the scanner is also iffy often as its some Linux based thing loaded on micro SD. but must get it to logon to update OS online so dead end ATM. I can plug same address in firefox but same results. dont know why the scanner maker hasnt replied to this topic. this is his thread.

how do I allow more time in browser before timeout? seems scanner is very slow and just starts to respond when timed out

If you attach a USB keyboard an HDMI monitor to the Pi and boot it, does it take you to a login screen?
