Topic: Hello from New Zealand

Hi,

I've just finished putting together a Velleman k8200. Was quite a bit more work than I was expecting, but I took it easy and it seems to have come together mostly ok. Seems the controller board is faulty as it doesn't recognise the heated bed, but manually controlling it with an external power supply has let me make a few test prints.

Currently printing out some cogwheels for my home-made robot arm and mulling the possibilities.  smile

Cheers,
grist.

Hmm, good question. I did download and install a firmware update. It's open source so I'll have a look though and see what I can see. Thanks for the tip.  smile

Be sure to read up on Marlin Firmware or Repetier-Firmware. Correctly configuring the firmware is a key step to a fully functional printer.
