Topic: Table turning problem

Hello,

We have completed the scanner but there is a problem. Our stepper motor does not turn properly. Maybe problem can be caused from the stepper motor. Our motor is Nema 17 200 step 1.5 A. For a whole turn we need to enter 204800 instead of 6400 step and we use DRV8825 instead of A4988.  What can be the problem?

Does your motor have a gear at the end of it?  Please post a picture.

Re: Table turning problem

Yes we have gear. Can you tell us what should be the specification of the motor compatible with freelss or what are the properties of your nema motor?

Re: Table turning problem

I'm not sure I understand your question.  You are not using ATLAS 3D hardware, so you need to configure the software appropriately.  You need to set the steps per revolution appropriately for whatever microstepping setting you used, the degree of the motor, and the gear ratio of the gear you have on the motor.

Re: Table turning problem

We did not buy kit for Atlas 3D but we tried to do the same and bought freelss licence for scanner. The only difference is drv8825 driver. All plastic parts are same printed from thingiverse piclop projects. The question we ask is for getting a complete turn of the table we need to enter 204800 instead of 6400 step in freelss. Our scanned image is not well. Is this can be related to steps? What can be the problem? Our electronic schema can be seen from the following image. Thank you in advance.

Re: Table turning problem

Please post a picture of your scan results. If you want to reduce the number of steps for a revolution, you can disable multi stepping on your drv8825.  Please also post a picture of the motor.

Re: Table turning problem

We solved the problem. This was caused because of the Raspberry Pi GPIO pins.
